        We booked a cabin at Pirate’s Cove Resort (Needles, CA) on November 4th, 2020 for July 8-12 2021 with nearly 15 other families/friends. I booked online and received the confirmation via email. On May 18, 2021 (over 6 months later) I received a call from Pirate’s Cove stating their online booking system allowed 2 parties to book the same cabin at the same time, and corporate had chosen the other party to be able to keep the booking, and we would have to reschedule. Of course this would not work for us as we were planning to be there with a large group of friends/family. They said they would check to see if any of the timeshares on the property could be booked as an option, and call me the next day. They did call the next day to let us know the timeshare thing would not work. At this time, I took the opportunity to let them know that I am aware of how the algorithm works for online bookings. That such a system would never allow for a double booking, and that I suspect somebody (perhaps a VIP) came in and wanted the cabin and we got “booted”. Crickets . . . no response or denial. I asked for a full refund, said I would never stay in their cabins in the future since that’s how they do business, and stated I hope the VIP enjoys the cabin my family and I booked over 6 months ago. Again crickets . . . no denial. Just makes me sick that my money isn’t as good as somebody else’s.

        Really beautiful resort. We have been staying in the cabins Monday through Friday one week each summer for 4 years in a row. Cabins are kept clean and up to date with full amenities. Beachside cabins are so private it is like a separate resort! GREAT family vacation!
