(TYPICALLY the first month) teen discovery AT Seneca ranch is a sister school in SC and offers parents an educational and developmental alternative that allows the child to escape from HIS/HER self limiting behaviors and GET a fresh start. Seneca ranch program was originally founded in 1998. AS part of the OLD Carolina springs campus has been a refreshing alternative for hundreds of families WHO deal with the challenges of parenting in an increasingly complicated world each student is assessed upon admission and then assisted in designing HIS or HER specific course of study. Boys and girls study in separate environments in order to maximize the students' ability to succeed in HIS or HER Academic pursuit. MERIT SYSTEM HIGH standards exist. Inappropriate behavior is confronted. Given consequences and redirected. Appropriate behavior is reinforced and rewarded, a MERIT system is used requiring each teen to earn their status and privileges through a standard program using a level system. This level system establishes the foundation for ALL privilege or status in program required for student advancement and growth. This is again part of the 7 dynamics of change TM that requires the progress to BE observable and recordable for it to BE realized. ALL OUR students progress is updated weekly along with the progress in school and is accessible AT the parent LOG in link on OUR home PAGE. PERSONAL development COURSES DAILY personal development and emotional growth courses are an important part of the overall program. These courses intermittently utilize effective resources such AS: educational and inspiring audio & video tapes. Selective reading material. Special workshops. And peer feedback sessions. Students evaluate and grade themselves on their OWN personal daily progress in several categories. Students MAY obtain assistance from other students and staff in this evaluation process. But the ultimate determinate for the greatest part of the students daily Score comes from their OWN evaluation this part of the 7 dynamics of change TM. In they have change that is measurable DAILY. LICENSED counseling. Informal equine therapy and equestrian CENTER AS described in the 7 dynamics of change TM teen discovery provides weekly and bi-monthly therapy both personal and group by OUR licensed therapist WHO are subcontracted in practice purposely to help maintain their professional Independence and BE Another voice outlet for OUR students and thereby safe guard their care and stay. The gift of WORK AT both teen discovery and Seneca ranch we believe we would fail OUR parents and OUR students miserably if we didn't teach the students in OUR care the gift of work. Recently there was a movie called "the ultimate gift" wherein a wealthy grandparent upon passing away left several tasks for HIS grandson to complete before HE could receive HIS ample inheritance. ONE of these tasks was learning to appreciate the value of hard work and the basic therapeutic nature of it in OUR lives. Work is the foundation and basic building blocks of ALL success. Learning to DO a JOB well regardless of what it is. Is where true greatness lies. It is critical to the OUR students growth and essential to ALL of OUR personal maturation.
