Michael & Son Service Inc

I contracted Lowes to install a kitchen garbage disposal where the current one had broken. They contracted Michael & Sons to actually do the job. The two men came out, and my tenant was there during the job. Not long after starting the job, the men called my tenant over and said for her to tell me there was a leaky pipe. They then proceeded to "install" the new disposal. My tenant called me the next day and told me about the leaky pipe, and I drove down to fix it. I found upon closer inspection that the pipe had actually been broken by the plumbers, and they just patched it up with glue and putty and played it off as if it was already cracked. My tenant had even found the part that had cracked off INSIDE the new disposal the first time she turned it on. Not only that, they did not install the entire new disposal and did not bother to let me know about it or why. They also took the new part with them instead of leaving it at the house. It took several calls by both Lowes and me before anyone at Michael & Sons would talk to me about this, and even though it was leaking due to their fault, they wouldn't come out for four more days to fix it. When it was finally the day they came back out, they showed up at 5:15 when the appointment time was between 1 and 4. I had to call the company dispatcher at 4 and again at 5 to make sure these guys were actually coming. Even the dispatched lied and told me they were stuck in bad traffic. (Seriously, this may have worked before smartphones could show you up-to-the-minute traffic.) They never apologized, although I was clearly angry at this point. They fixed it to my satisfaction at the end of that day, but the hassle and anger and lies were not worth it. I would never recommend this company. This should have been a simple job.
