I would avoid this company at all cost. Mr. Charles Smiley is the owner and he came with an assistant. This gentleman came to my house 3 years ago and did the leaky roof work. At that time the leak wasn't too bad but I noticed our upholstered wall was getting discolored. I expected him to give me an estimate but he told his assitant to get three tiles from the truck and had his assistant replace them immediately. The roof was only 8 feet high from our balcony and it literally took less than 10 minutes and came down. Things happened so fast we didn't even have a chance to discuss pricing. Then he demanded the $900 for the repair. I thought $900 was excessive for 10 minutes of work. Then he said that is his minimum charge even for 1 minute work. I don't think the work was even done right. The same area was leaking on next rain, but for past two years the rain wasn't too bad. The ring around the upholstererd wall was getting bigger and bigger. Then this past few days we had heavy rain. The same spot has hugh leak and the rain sipped through the ceiling and now dripping to the downstair furnitures. I know it has been three years but called if he would gurantee his work, which I thought he might for that kind of pricing. But no, he would not guarantee the work at all even if it leaks right away because he says it could be other tile around it. If you are ready to pay big bucks and accept no guarantee work for the job may not be done correctly, please hire this company. It is my only regret not to check comment about this company at that time

In response to Mr Kwak's review, I am sorry that he feels this way. As is the case, you cannot always please everyone no matter how hard you may try. In early 2006 Mr Kwak signed a contract for roofing repair. A customer is always given an estimate, prior to any work being done, and if the customer chooses us, he is then given a contract to sign as we are licensed, insured, and conduct business in a very professional manner. The course of the repair was approx a day and a half ( with a crew and time spent searching for matching tile in order to do a perfect job) The repair was completed perfectly, for the previously agreed upon price on the contract. No surprises or additions.. we actually performed more work, and did a bigger area just to do a good job as an accomodation for the customer at no additional charge. He was happy at the time. We never heard from Mr Kwak again. There have been several major rains over the past five year period. We never had a call regarding his repair ever. Anyone knows that if there is something wrong you will call the service provider. Five years later, after having had The Dish TV installer crawl around and break an abundant amount of tiles on his roof (installing his satellite TV), Mr Kwak called after a recent heavy rain. He insisted that "You should fix my roof for free. It never was right" Well, if it were never right, I would have gladly come out and checked, as well as have repaired again at no charge (if there were a problem, and if it was OUR work.) However, anyone in business knows that you cannot be expected to be responsible for, or fix someone else's damage after 5 years time had passed, and everything was fine. The customer's comment to me when I explained that I could not be resposible for the cable company's damage was " you fix it for free, or I will smear you on the internet." It's too bad that there are people out there that feel that they can be untruthful, and use the internet as blackmail in order to intimidate reputable business people. I feel that 37 years in business speaks for itself as to the quality of our work, and our ethical business practices,

Glad I called them !!!

I experienced a really bad leak in our bedroom during the recent heavy rains. I called 4 roofers, and did not get a prompt call back from anyone. I called Charles Smiley Roofing, and was connected to them immediately. Within 3 hours, they had completed a quality repair on my roof, and alleviated my worries. Thank you Charles Smiley Roofing.
