Pretreatment of soil or gravel fill, foundations, and concrete slab substrate is recommended for the prevention of termites and subslab ant problems prior to the construction of a house or commercial building. Application of a termiticide is typically provided after building foundations are constructed, but before any concrete slabs have been poured. This preventative application is money well spent if you’re building in an area known to have termites or for food or medical facilities where chronic subslab ant problems are intolerable.
Spiders
Termites
This treatment is building code law in states with serious termite problems. It may also be necessary to satisfy VA, FHA, FmHA or HUD loan requirements. A variety of termiticide products are available for this use.

Wheat, corn, oats or any other stored grain commodity can be fumigated with phosphine gas for the control of weevil, “bran bugs”, grain beetles, meal moth or any other stored grain pests. Cost varies dramatically from 1¢ to 7¢ per bushel ($250 minimum) depending on storage conditions and total bushels. It is normally cheaper to fumigate than take a dock at the elevator.
Many wild animals can commonly present problem to homeowners and businesses. Bats, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, opossums and many other animal species can be removed and excluded successfully with traps, one-way doors and exclusion devices. Thorough sealing with the right materials will prevent future conflicts. There is typically a survey charge to access the problem and estimate the cost of a solution. We are often times able to begin control measures at the time of the survey.
With the strict health, sanitation, and food safety regulations today, there is no tolerance for pest problems in our food supply, schools, restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. We provide IPM (Integrated Pest Management) solutions for commercial facilities of every kind. Specialized programs for fly and gnat control, rodent and bird exclusion, pheromone monitoring of stored product pests are all common services required to meet ASI, AIB, SQF, and Siliker specifications. We provide electronic documentation which meets or exceeds industry standards and includes interactive facility maps, current and archived company documents, charts/graphs, and various trending reports to help us maintain a pest free environment. Buckeye Exterminating is dedicated to food safety and we look forward to working with you to keep your facility audit ready.
Sparrows
We are the bird control experts of Northwest Ohio. Bird problems occur with many different unusual circumstances. It is critical to inspect each problem site and recommend the control option that best fits each situation. As sparrows, starlings and pigeons are not protected by law, typically lethal and non-lethal options are available for these species.
Future infestation prevention can involve rodent proofing, exterior bait stations and habitat modifications. An estimate for these services can be provided as part of the service inspection.
