Overall

Had service for 10 years, no problems with this company. Recently moved out of state & the new water company wanted a letter of credit stating that we paid our bills in a timely manner, no lates, etc. so that we didn't have to put up a deposit. Contacted Arizona Water Company, they don't do that for past customers- nothing...sorry! Maybe I should have told them sorry, I paid my water bill on time for 10 years?

Overall

Such good customer service. Had an account with them for over 20 years, and someone turned on the water to our rental property while it was vacant and let a garden hose run for days. The highly competent folks at AZWC somehow didn't think it was pertinent to call me or contact me in any way to let me know my water was flooding the alleyway, where the water meter is checked.

After receiving a water bill for 5x what was normal, we went to check it out on our own and found the situation described above. The following month, we received a bill over 20x what was normal! (We expected it to be a little high but it was still difficult to stomach a nearly $1000 water bill)

So, having had an account and service through the company for so long, I called hoping to somehow alleviate the stress of this astronomical bill. Over the course of our conversation, they had the audacity to tell me that they had called me to notify my water had been excessively running, something incredibly dishonest, as I had I go investigate on my own and notify them. They also communicated to me that because it was a rental that we had recently re-established services in our name, we didn't have a standing record of 'normal' water bills that our new bill could be compared against. Fine, we accepted that we could, or they refused, to modify our bill amount and they suggested to split the bill into monthly increments for the next six months so it was easier to pay.

So here I am, a week later, I receive a deliquent notice in the mail, charging me a late fee plus interest and notifying me that if my bill hasn't been paid by tomorrow, the service will be disconnected. I called them and they said breaking the bill into payments yields a late fee to them every month. How convenient. Great customer service.

A truely terrible company, and if I had the option to go elsewhere, I would gladly pay more to do so.
