I had a bad experience with the owner Harry . He would not order parts until the insurance co gave approval, he bitched because i e mailed him about my car in spite of the fact it was the only one i had and was rude and unprofessional. He said he was tired of getting e mails from me and said i inquired about my car more than others who had cars there. I didnt ask my son or my friend to call about my car that he had for almost a month and he was rude to them. He was trying to look at the diagnostic part of my car to make sure it was safe to drive or so he says but last time i checked he ran a body shop not a mechanic shop. His guy that did my work was so nice and professional, id rather of dealt with him. I would never ever recommend harry or this shop to anyone.

Overall

My experience with American Pride was a mixed bag.



We were directed to American Pride via the “other guy’s” insurance company. An estimate was completed quickly along with a partial tear-down. The car then sat for some time due to the other insurance company deciding to dispute fault (no fault of American Pride). American Pride was reasonably helpful in working with the insurance companies.



I then found out that American Pride was not authorized to do the partial tear-down by the insurance company, but the car was now in pieces and no longer drivable. I was not thrilled when I found this out from my insurance company, but decided to not make an issue of it.



We then directed American Pride to do the repair, and were provided an estimate of 5 days to perform the work. Things only went downhill from there.



On the negative side:

When calling and asking for a status, the front office manager was immediately defensive / boarding on argumentative. He would talk much, listen little, and never be understanding or apologetic. I think there were some good reasons for delay – the new hood came in damaged, an autobody man on limited duty (known at the time of the quote I am sure), something got scratched and had to be repainted …, but 5 days growing to 19 (26 if you include weekends) is too long.



When I asked for an update on the quote, the front-office manager would never give me one. Even the day before it was to be picked up, he still did not have an updated quote.



On the day I picked up the vehicle – I STILL had to wait for a while for the final numbers.



On the positive side,



I would occasionally talk to the shop manager, and found him good to work with. He was frank, friendly, and understanding.



The repair seems to be well done!



A couple things were left in the vehicle that were still in the vehicle.



The final cost was very close to what was quoted.



Conclusion: Final product and cost good, but 5 days turning into 19 work days and front office handling not good.

Bad Service

I had the worst service, ever with America Pride. I think he's the owner ( Harry) I Well never take my car there, are refer anyway there. He is very unprofessional, the work is horrible & slow.
