Dental Examination
Whether it has been six months or six years, receiving a comprehensive dental exam is one of the first steps to getting a happy and healthy smile.
X-rays
Dental X-rays are an important part of a thorough dental examination and are completed once a year to detect cavities or other problems not able to be seen with the naked eye. Dental X-rays are both safe and effective. At Cornerstone, we use digital equipment which produces even less radiation exposure.

Teeth Cleaning
Routine professional dental cleanings help keep your teeth and gums in good shape and is key to maintaining your oral health and overall well-being. You should receive a cleaning twice a year, or every six months.
Fluoride Treatment
The next to last step is rinsing! Also, at this time a fluoride treatment may be applied. Fluoride helps prevent decay for several months, remineralizes the enamel, and can also help with sensitivity.

Fillings
Veneers
Teeth whitening treatment works well in removing surface stains caused by drinking coffee, tea, wine, or tobacco use. Unfortunately, whitening does not work for teeth that are discolored by trauma, age, or medications. Because stains caused by these factors are internal, whitening treatment will not help. In addition, whitening does not work on dental crowns, veneers, or fillings. Always ask your dentist or dental hygienist if teeth whitening treatment is right for you.
Crowns
Sometimes a damaged tooth needs more than just a filling to protect and restore the tooth to health. For situations like this, Dr. Wilson might recommend a dental crown. A dental crown is a tooth-shaped covering that is placed over a tooth and is used to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. The Cornerstone Family Dentistry team is very experienced in providing dental crowns for patients and will make sure you’re comfortable before, during, and after the dental crown procedure.
Bridges
If you’ve had a tooth extracted, there are several options we can provide to fill the empty space or replace the tooth. We offer patients the opportunity to receive dental implants, partial dentures, implant retained dentures, traditional dentures, and dental bridges.

Root Canal Treatment
Your teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and that’s why Cornerstone Family Dentistry does everything possible to save your teeth from needing to be extracted. If an injury or a large cavity damages the tooth’s nerve, the nerve will become infected or inflamed. For conditions like this, Dr. Wilson might recommend a root canal.
