Please don't go there!

Dr. Sigmond was always rushed at every annual exam my dog had with her and missed many things, For example she would take him in the back and I assumed she would see his missing teeth, then she would rush him in to me and I would ask her about it to which she would reply, " oh, we missed that!" amongst many more to list.. Sadly she missed the biggest thing of all, she didn't catch my dog's oral cancer during our annual exam! 3 months later he died. I will never forgive her for this! Had she looked in his mouth he would still be here today, it was too late by the time I caught it!! The vet at ASH told me she missed it because she was probably in a hurry and asked me if I knew he had a heart problem as well as cancer. I told Dr. Sigmond four years prior that I thought he had heart issues but she insisted he did not!! She has made many other mistakes too long to list but this will haunt me forever. She comes across friendly but underneath it is someone who does not care nor does the vet tech Crystal. Do not take your animal to her! Also stupidly I hired her to do a at home euthanasia as my dog was terrified of going to Gulf Shore Animal Hospital. It was a night mare, again she was rushed and didn't let me say good bye to him as she just came in fast and said," where do you want to do this?"I had no time to think, less then 3 agnozing minutes he was gone, he was so terrified and yelped out, I had to keep talking to him while trying not to faint. I thought it would be peaceful for him it sickens me to see him so helpless and in pain! I can't get this image out of my head. I wanted to hold him during his passing but she insisted on using a butterfly catheter so he had to be on the ground. I paid extra to have it go well but it was a mistake, then when it was over she gave me 2 minutes before whisking him away! The office on top of it all also over charged me for what I was quoted. Dr. Sigmond did not care about my dog nor me! Looking back she made many more mistakes one of which was her insisting on him having a rabies vaccine even though he had severe allergies and was old, all she had to do was write a letter to the county pardoning him. I even paid $600.00 for a teeter test to see if his levels were legal. My cousin who is a vet told me all she had to do was write the letter wich would have taken her two minutes instead of giving him the vaccine. I told her I never wanted him to have it as I read it causes cancer in dogs with weak imune systems and it is not good if they are elderly. I don't think it is a coincidence that 5 months later he died. I will never forgive myself for trusting this woman! Why is she even a vet? She will never understand what this did to my poor dog and what it has done to my health. I know have severe anxiety, suffer from night mares and have developed high blood pressure. I miss my dog dearly and this will haunt me forever.

Emergency service excellent!

My little shih tzu started choking and I called Gulfshore Hospital for help. They told me to bring him in immediately. They diagnosed him with aspiration pneumonia and he was promptly treated for this. They were all fantastic there and helped him recover very quickly.
