Wow after reading these reviews I am glad this company just screwed my son and his roommates out of renting an apartment to them. They promise them a place and when they go to sign the lease they say they are full. What a joke of a company. Can I give them no stars..

They will fool you!



I was never late on rent payments and I did not damage my apartment. I actually over-paid my rent by a significant amount and they would not give me my money back.



I arranged a sublease with this company. I called United at the end of their lease to make sure the sublets were paid in full. United lied to me and said everything was ship-shape and my refund would come back two week after the lease.



2 weeks went by and they STOLE that money out of my account with no authorization for a sublet's missed payment. They DID NOT inform me of this, nor did they hold the sublet responsible at all. I called to complain and an older woman pulled the "old woman" card on me to make me sympathize for her "harsh and tiring job".



Then she preceded to pull the RACE card saying "Are all BLACKS bad? No, just like all apartment companies are not bad."



I was stunned at this statement. To calm me down, she told me that was sorry for the misunderstanding and that she would be by my side at court and assist me with the paperwork to take my sublet to court. She advised me to try to settle with the sublet first.



I gave the sublet 2 months to get back to me. After unsuccessfully settling with my sublet, I called United back for advice.



The elderly woman was completely rude and acted as if she did not remember my case and pushed me aside. All I wanted were some tips on how to handle this situation as promised.



She claimed, "I never said I would go to court with you", "I DONT NEED to help you", and then tried hanging up the phone on me. She also THREATENED TO "VOID MY SUBLEASE" so that the sublet's name was no longer on the lease and I would be fully responsible (which I'm not sure is even legal).



I understand that you are responsible for your Sublet, but this woman made promises on behalf of her company and did not follow through. Verbal promises were made and not kept multiple times.



She offered no help and was very rude. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE what so ever. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They treat their customers like a joke.

DON'T LIVE WITH UNITED, give your money to a different company who cares about your service!

Absolutely The Worst place anyone can live in mount pleasant. The management are rude, disrespectful, inconsiderate fools and treat most of their tenants like children. This company tried stealing my security deposit for no reason besides (probably commission) and that they felt like they could. When I fought them for it they had a maintenance worker come to my apartment and take pictures of me through the window. Completely Outrageous crap, and they then tried strong-arming me into paying by threatening to go to court. Looking back, I wish I had RECORDED EVERY CONVERSATION I've had with these scumbags

DO NOT STAY HERE! The landlords are very rude and unhelpful. They will not let you have guests stay the night. They come in and snoop around in your apartment when they know you are not home (for instance Christmas break and spring break), taking pictures of your belongings and looking through your drawers. They will also try to scam you into giving them money. They will do anything (lying, bullying, etc) to get every penny they can from you. Besides from the horrible staff, their parking lots are terrible. There is no room to drive, there are accidents daily. THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY, TIME, OR STRESS.
