Carmela's Tailoring

Our experience with Carmela has been nothing but perfect. I have been using her for all my family's tailoring needs from Prom to business and everywhere in between. If there was an option for 10 stars that's what I would give her!

I came to this business and dealt with the owner, Carmela. I needed some minor work on a dress -nothing major. The dress was short, made of silk, and the work consisted of hemming a few inches (maybe 4") off the bottom, taking it in a bit on sides (maybe 1/4") and shortening the straps. Carmela agreed the work would be minor and provided me with a receipt - without a price and writing in foreign language.



When I picked up my dress the following day I tried it on and found she'd taken it in too much on the sides. I waited a few minutes while she corrected this, and when done she handed me the dress. I asked how much I owed her, and to my surprise she stated $110. Yes...you read it correctly. One-hundred-ten dollars.



When I asked why it was that much and advised her that was almost twice the cost of the dress she stated there was extensive work she'd done on the dress; which is NOT true as she agreed with me during our first transaction that it was minimal work. She reiterated that her price was $110.



I found this "business woman" to be unscrupulous and fraudulent in that she gave me a receipt with foreign language, no price, and had the audacity to charge me $110 for very minor work that should not have cost anything more than $50.



I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!
