The Road and Bridge Maintenance is a division of the Mobile County Public Works - Engineering Department. The department is responsible for the maintenance of all county-owned properties and buildings, city streets and utilities, sidewalks, sewage pumping stations, sewers, cemeteries, parks and airports. The various services provided by its street division include street repair, repainting street legends, lane lines, curbs and parking zones, the hand cleaning and mechanical sweeping of streets, and the installation and maintenance of street signs and guardrails. Its engineering division performs capital project oversight, including design and construction and is also responsible for the technical review of all private development in the county.
