The Public Works Department of Milpitas is responsible for construction, operation and maintenance of the City of Milpitas's infrastructure, including water and wastewater utilities, streets and storm water drainage. It has various divisions that offer a wide variety of construction, maintenance, design and procurement services. Its engineering division deals with plan reviews, permitting, inspecting, and approving various projects related to paving, drainage systems, and water and sewer infrastructure. The department also offers recycling services for various materials, including newspapers, cardboard, cereal boxes, paperboard, aluminum cans, and glass bottles and jars. Its environmental department s services include, disposal of waste products, maintenance of fire hydrant systems, and utility infrastructure construction and engineering projects. The department is located in Milpitas, Calif.
