I enjoy going to thrift stores because often you can find unusual things for bargain prices. Unfortunately, there are frequently some unpleasant things that also go along with thrift stores. These include items that don't work, things that have pieces missing and in many instances, an odd smell. This thrift store was a complete and wonderful surprise! When we walked in, I immediately noticed that the store was well lit, exceptionally clean, and beautifully organized. There was a huge variety of items and much of the inventory was brand new. When speaking with the owners I mentioned how nice everything looked and smelled. I was impressed to learn that clothing is washed, upholstery is cleaned, electronics are checked, and everything possible is done to restore things to their original condition.

We found this store while out exploring Minnesota and we will definitely go back. The owners were polite, friendly and helpful, and the store was a well priced treasure hunt. It was nice to support a small family business rather than a national chain and my teenagers found everything from brand new gym clothes to anime!

Overall
Store located in the Armory

This store sells junk. I bought a computer chair from them and when i got home, I realized so many things were wrong with it.

My girlfriend and I were recently visiting the store for Halloween costumes for ourselves and our 14 month old son. they have a pretty big selection but most of it seemed to have already been used or somehow damaged. Since I bought a broken chair from them, I figure I would inspect one of the costumes I was planning on buying. I tried zipping up the zipper and what do you know, it broke. I barely tugged on the thing and it came off. So i set the outfit down and move on. I'm glad I didn't purchase it, I don't want to have my son trapped in some stupid costume.

So we buy some lights to hang and some light bulbs ( 1 out of 2 bulbs actually worked ) and a wig. We also bought some Halloween candle holders. The total came up to around 12 - 14$. . (Kind of a rip off)

We left the store satisfied but still with no costume for our son so we decided to wait a few weeks and come back.

a couple weeks role by and its now around 30 degrees out. We bust out the Eddy Bauer stroller for our son so he can stay warmer.

We visited the Discovery Thrift store again. We saw this nice puppy costume but decided not to get it because it was meant for a 3-4 year old. My girlfriend found some really nice rice bowls and decided she was going to buy them. We went to the counter and we were all ready to pay for the rice bowls when the lady said, "Where is the costume?"

My gf and I looked at each other confused. We put the costume back on the rack so why were they asking? I went to go look for it and found it on the rack.

As I went to find the costume, the lady commented how we broke the zipper on the costume a week or two back previously. At that point I knew where this was going. We just decided that the store has too much junk and too much drama and so we left. She even had the nerve to ask if we were going to buy the bowls and we said, "no, thank you." We are not thieves and we are not some immature kids who love breaking things. We left the store embarrassed and humiliated.

We have spent 75$ on a few different objects there in the past so it's not like money is tight. The costume were like 3 -4$ so it's not a huge loss if the zipper busted.

Sorry for the long rant but this store has such a nasty and trashy vibe to it I figure I would write my first review. I don't know how many people actually read these but I hope I can save you the trouble and the time from actually visiting the store. Everything is overpriced and the owners are very disrespectful.
