Middletown Auto Repair

Today I had an extremely frustrating encounter with a man (I’m assuming the owner) working at this shop. I came in because I had a few lug nuts come loose and tightened them up as best I could with the tool I had. I called this shop since it’s close to my house and asked if they didn’t mind just using a torque wrench to be sure they were tightened correctly. He said it would be no problem. When I came to the shop he asked for my keys which I thought was a little weird since all he needed to do was walk about 10 feet to my car with a torque wrench but I handed them to him anyway. He drove the car into his shop which I’m still not sure why, there was no reason, but he’s the mechanic so I didn’t question it. I was standing outside the shop since I figured it would be a quick fix and I could be on my way afterwards. But he refused to let me near the shop. He said I wasn’t dressed appropriately and his insurance didn’t cover me being in the garage. I said that’s fine I could stand outside – he still refused to let me watch. He said I didn’t need to tell him how to do his job – which I didn’t, I simply figured it was a quick and easy fix and could have even done it myself if I had the right tool. At this point he basically told me no I cannot watch him tighten the lug nuts which I found very suspicious so I decided to just take my car and leave. Not sure what the issue was with me watching a 30 second job but oh well. Would have paid him for the quick service but now he lost a customer and hope he loses more after reading this. Unbelievable.
