Arthritis
Good general health is necessary for laser vision correction. As such, Phoenix / Scottsdale LASIK surgery patients with rheumatoid arthritis, lupus and other connective tissue disorders are often non-candidates, though patients with well-controlled diabetes can often still have surgery. Dr. Amy Czyz referred me. Because of my glaucoma, I had the PRK procedure. Dr. Czyz and Dr. Qamar forewarned me PRK would have a longer healing process and I would be happy with the results. After the surgery, I was stressed because it wasn't perfect right away. I am impatient!! After 3 weeks of me doubting in the procedure, I woke up one morning to see my world perfectly clear! On my 2-month post-op check-up, my vision was 20/15!!! I am so happy that I had the procedure done!
Ophthalmology
Dr. Qamar was born and raised in Newton, Kansas. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. Dr. Qamar interned in Internal Medicine at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Macular Degeneration
If your eyes prove healthy, then you will likely experience a tremendous improvement in your vision from surgery. However, if an additional problem is present, such as diabetic eye disease or macular degeneration, then your vision may improve, but perhaps not quite as much as you would like. At Q Vision, Dr. Tariq Qamar will personally examine your eyes to check for any additional concerns, and if an issue is found, he will thoroughly discuss its impact on your vision prior to your procedure.
