2.5 hr appointment to be told I needed a $2500 mouth guard.

Sounds like everyone gets the same treatment: "may need chiro, may need ENT referral, but all need expensive mouth guard".

Mouth guards don't cost $2500. :(

Do not waste your time, effort, or money on any treatment that this facility provides for TMJ. Its not even really a facility but a small office made up of 2 staff persons and Dr.Barron. If you have TMJ, seek a qualified dentist. Dr. Barron's services are based on a guy named Dr.Olmos who has used TMJ as a way to profit and make money. People with TMJ deserve better doctors but unfortunately those good doctors are very far and few in between. Her treatments consists of a cookie cutter protocol that does not work. Her treatments are also backed by zero and I mean ZERO science. Do not fall for the fake muscle testing. It has no inter-rater reliability and is considered a sham by the majority of doctors in the medical community as well as in the scientific literature. The mouth guards that she makes cost in the range of 2,000-3,000 dollars and yet are no more sophisticated than a guard that any general dentist can customize for between 150.00-300.00. I guess that it is all I can say. I hope you heed my advice. I would hate for anyone to be tricked and set off course as is with her treatment. She even claims to have suffered from the disorder herself. I am not even sure if I buy that anymore. I mean- its hard to swallow after how rudely she treated me when her treatments failed. She blames the patient when things go wrong. She is not a ethical doctor in any way, shape or form. Ethical doctors try and figure out what they are doing wrong- not her, she will just blame her patients. It is pathetic really. There is two good TMJ doctors in the memphis area. One in germantown and another in Arkansas..go there. save money, save time, save heartache. Her center is heavily promoted because of her money-making mentor Dr. Olmos..but dont follow the glam..follow a person who has science on their side. Good luck.

RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN unless you enjoy wasting thousands on sham services. PLEASE if you have TMJD, do not waste thousands and months as I did. She has a warm smile BUT her treatments are NOT based on any SCIENCE. YOU CAN GET HELP, I DID BUT NOT FROM HER. I WASTED OVER 4000 ON HER SHAM AND WAS LEFT WITHOUT ANY REFUNDS OR ANSWERS... I WAS LEFT WITH NOTHING!!!
