If you want to leave your pet somewhere that will treat them like you would; Look no further. I can speak from experience that they truly went above and beyond to care for our Titus Blu. I will recommend them to anyone as the staff truly cares for the animals as if they were their very own. This all any pet owner could ask for when have to leave their love one.
great staff, well trained, very involved, knowledgeable and helpful.
great facility and super convenient.

We have used this kennel a total of three times. The first two times, we had no issues. The most recent time was during Christmas. I was running late to pick up my dog, and they did stay a little later for me to get there. The next evening day I noticed a very large bloody hole on my dog close to his hind leg. I didn't notice it before since his fur normally covers it depending on how he is laying down. He also did not appear to be in pain. I took him to the emergency room, and they clipped the hair to really look at it. It was 1/2 inch on top with two one inch sides to form a triangle. They said it was not a fresh wound. It was roughly 3 days old, and there was not a good way to close it since the edges had sealed and adhered to the muscle with granulation tissue.
I went back to 2nd Family Dogs and showed them the report from the emergency room which indicated that this happened in their care. They apologized, and, after some back and forth, they agreed to pay for the emergency room charges. They did not feel that they should refund my money I paid them though, and they did not. I did not feel as though my dog was well taken care of since I got him back in much worse shape than I dropped him off in. They said they did a service and that you have to expect that dogs will get hurt sometimes when you drop them off to any facility as theirs. They also mentioned that they have a limited number of dog handlers for the number of dogs that come in during holidays, and that these kind of things will happen. This has never happened in the ten years that I have been using doggie daycare places. They did pay for the emergency room costs, but I had multiple follow ups after that with my vet that came out of my pocket. So in the end I paid to have my dog hurt and pay more money out of my pocket to help his healing. In addition, He wore a cone for a month until he healed, and we had to clean his wound twice a day. Basically, he stayed there for four days, and he spent a month healing from it.. Overall, it was a negative experience and I did not think they really wanted to make this right. They did the minimum.

My dogs love it there. Clean, cheery, lots and lots of play room outdoors and play rooms inside when weather is bad. My dogs come home exhausted and can't wait to go back
