Redwood Animal Hospital of McKinleyville - Neal R Winnacott DVM

I cannot recommend Redwood Animal Hospital enough. We are new to the area and called them with an emergency recently. Dr. Winnacott and his amazing staff stayed almost four hours after closing to help our wounded kitten and she's made a beautiful recovery thanks to them and the excellent follow-up care she received. Our other pets have been in since to receive care, and again, we were just blown away by the level of care of the staff and the doctor's expertise. I mean, this guy went to Cornell: if you're going to pick a vet, an Ivy League educated one is a pretty solid choice. Thank you Redwood Animal Hospital!

I called this business to inquire about bringing my dog in to handle an ear infection and was put on hold for almost 12 minutes, then got disconnected. After immediately calling back I was asked to be put on hold again which I declined. I was only trying to make an appointment or see if there was an opening. I felt like they forgot about me on the phone.

I had a terrible experience at this clinic. At the time, I had only lived in the area a week. My cat hurt himself some how during the night and he had a pretty nasty, bloody wound on his foot. I took him to this clinic as it is basically around the corner from my neighborhood to see if they could clean him up and dress his foot.



I get there and I'm the ONLY person in the lobby. I show the receptionist his bloody foot and she says "Sorry, we're all booked up for the day". I then asked her "So what am I supposed to do with his bleeding foot?" and she says "It's not really bleeding that badly, we can try and squeeze you in tomorrow". I was livid. I have never had such a horrible experience at a vet clinic in my life. The staff is uncaring and unprofessional. My other vet in my old town (6 hours away unfortunately) would have MADE room for a bloody cat. This clinic couldn't be bothered. If they had been busy I would be more understanding; however, they seemed to just simply be lazy. Stay FAR away from this clinic, I know I am.
