Chiropractic Adjustments
I strive to offer my patients the most specific and gentle chiropractic adjustments. I primarily use DIVERSIFIED Technique when making chiropractic adjustments. This manual technique is characterized by the use of the doctor’s hands to make corrections in the spine and throughout the joints of the body. Diversified technique often involves adjustments referred to as “side posture” for the lower back and can include “anterior” (facing up) adjustments of the mid-back.
Spinal Adjustments
A doctor of chiropractic is uniquely qualified to evaluate and restore the health of your spine. Along with spinal adjustments and related treatments, a chiropractor emphasizes healthy everyday living (to help maintain spinal corrections and avoid future problems). Healthy everyday living includes good diet/nutrition/eating habits, exercise, and good posture/ergonomics (movement patterns/lifting techniques). Your chiropractor can help you understand the importance of healthy movement, proper posture, and strengthening exercises.
Stretching
Manipulation Therapy
If the body is not ready for adjustments, you are not comfortable with manual spinal manipulation, or muscles need some extra care to loosen up, one of the passive therapies we offer can help. Treatments that we can use include: dry needling, therapeutic SUMMUS LASER, electric muscle stimulation, myofascial release, flexion-distraction, and more. We also teach stretches and stabilization exercises to help patients progress faster and maintain treatment improvements.
Myofascial Therapy
Treatments that I use for soft tissues (muscles and tendons) injuries include: Myofascial Release Technique, Trigger Point Therapy, Post Isometric Relaxation/Post Facilitated Stimulation, and more. Electric Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, Traction, and Hot and Cold Therapies are also utilized in the office.
Flexion Distraction Therapy
Additionally, I utilize Flexion-Distraction Technique in the treatment of disc herniations, sciatica, radiculopathies (nerve irritation), and other injuries. These treatments help relieve weakness, numbness, and pains which travel into the buttock and legs. Additional treatments for radicular/traveling pain often involves treatment of muscle spasms with myofascial release technique and stretching exercises.
