        Porter Elementary School serves a student population of more than 700 students and imparts education in grades kindergarten through five. It provides art, music, physical education, media and guidance specialty instruction for its students. It offers various extracurricular activities, such as Rigby reading, orchard software program, book fair, daily language, annual essay publication, drama, health fair and accelerated reader program. Its academic curriculum includes classes in physical education, reading, media and technology, special education, science, English, math, health and social studies. The school has an advisory council and offers guidance, media center and food services. Porter Elementary School is a part of the Blount County Schools and is located in Maryville, Tenn.
