Fillings
In the past, fillings for teeth were silver and made from amalgam. Not only are these fillings unattractive, but the mercury in the amalgam is now viewed as potentially toxic. For these reasons, tooth-colored white fillings are now the favorite choice in cosmetic dentists across the country. Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. McLaughlin, Dr. Mueller (Nelson), and the team at Dental Touch Associates are always striving to take care of your teeth and keep them healthy, so they last a lifetime. But sometimes a root canal or other treatment just doesn’t make sense if you have a tooth or maybe even several teeth that are beyond repair. This is when the doctor might recommend you consider having an extraction.

Dentures
If the crown falls off, make an appointment to see your dentist as soon as possible and bring the crown with you. If you can’t get to the dentist right away and the tooth is causing pain, use a cotton swab to apply a little clove oil to the sensitive area (clove oil can be purchased at your local drug store or in the spice aisle of your grocery store). If possible, slip the crown back over the tooth. Before doing so, coat the inner surface with an over-the-counter dental cement, tooth paste, or denture adhesive, to help hold the crown in place. Do not use super glue!

These solutions will always be discussed with you in great detail prior to any decisions being made. We believe parents and children should work together to maintain dental hygiene and will provide age-appropriate education to empower all involved parties in maintaining peak dental health.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Curious about how they work? Invisalign looks a lot like the trays you might use to whiten your teeth. They are custom made for each patient to properly move teeth to the recommended position. Every couple of weeks, you’ll place a new and slightly different set of aligners.
Braces
Temporarily reattach loose braces with a small piece of orthodontic wax. Alternatively, place the wax over the braces to provide a cushion. If the problem is a loose band, save it and call our office for an appointment to have it recemented or replaced (and to have missing spacers replaced).
