I took my Stihl BG86 blower in due to low power.
Called the store first during the week and said I'd bring my equipment over, and agreed to the $30-ish fee to diagnose the problem.

When I dropped the unit off, I explained pretty clearly what I had already replaced the carb, air filter, tank vent, etc..

Four days later I get a call with the details, and am told the unit needs a new carb for $105. I re-explained that it already has a new Zama carb, but they insisted it was probably defective as many are if not purchased through them.

Ok I say, sure maybe it is, because what do I know right.. I said pack it up and I'm coming to get it, as I can order another new Zama carb kit for $25. I get the new carb in and begin putting it on, and low and behold what do I find? All three screws bolting the intake manifold to the cylinder head were completely loose!! I said well hell, why didn't I see that.. but more importantly, why didn't they see that!! I just paid to have this unit inspected and diagnosed, regardless.

I tightened down the three screws, left the first new carb on which they had, and the unit started right up and runs like new!! Yay for me, but I was just out $30 some dollars and four days for an inspection that never happened, and nearly $105 if I would have gotten suckered into their shotgun approach of diagnosing problems. I even put the original carb back on and ran like new, just to prove it wasn't the carb at all.

I'm paying for an expert to look over my equipment and check everything, then give me a fair price for doing the work.
Had I spent the $105, would they have said they found three screws loose and not charged me for a new carb?? Now that's the magic question isn't it. I can only guess no, as they never inspected the unit to begin with, or else they would have seen the intake shaking like a leaf against the cylinder head.

Will I go back.. No, what for.

Worst customer no service!!! Don't buy anything or even get work done. Spent $3000 and having warranty work done and they don't even call you to advise on any problems or progress. They have had my mower almost one month and paying for something I can't even use.

First time customer. Had to replace my chain on my STIHL chainsaw. The gentleman at the counter was busy but he still took time to install the new chain on my chainsaw. He even gave me a few pointers. Thank you.

Poor service. Nobody can pick up the phone to tell you that the work is not finished when promised. When you show up to find out, there is always someone else with another excuse...

The WORST service ever. I waited two weeks before I called to find out where my parts were and was told they had been in for sometime. I then waited six weeks and repairs. were still not done. I ordered parts on line an had them in three days. I will never deal with them again.
