Anthony's Jamaican Restaurant

I would like to thank the owner's of Anthony's Jamaican Restaurant for opening up such a great eatery in Manchester, it is such a great change of pace. In a town filled with a million pizza joints, Chinese takeout, and cookie cutter corporate eateries it is great when something culturally unique comes to town. Through some of my Jamaican friends at work I had gotten acquainted with and fallen in love with Jamaican food. When prepared correctly it is heavenly and hot all at the same time. Anthony's food is that perfect mix. Their Jerk Chicken just melts off the bone...and spiced so perfectly. Their rice and peas (rice and beans) are made perfectly and jblends its taste with the rest of the dish so beautifully. Now lets get to the best dish of them all...the curry goat. Now many of you unfamiliar with Jamaican food may say, "Yuck...goat...no way! Thats not something I would ever try!" Well I say to you....your missing out on a little slice of yummy!! The curry sauce is spot on and gives a perfect taste with a nice mix of spicy zing. The goat itself is tender and perfectly cooked. If you aren't up for goat yet they do offer a curry chicken which is also very very good. They also offer a wide array of jamaican beef patties, chicken patties, and other traditional jamaican foods.



Now I know what your thinking, the title of this is "Amazing food stirred with Attitude", where is this attitude? Well I don't want to stop you from going in there to get your take out food because the end results is an amazing dish that you will love, but you must go through some less than happy employees to get it. If you don't care about simple manners of returning a "hello" or communicating in a friendly fashion then almost everyone that works there will be an "Employee of the Month" for you. There is a gentleman that works there that is really friendly and I enjoy when he greets me (sorry I wish I knew his name). PLEASE, Please, Please, Please do not let this scare you away because you will love the food...and really thats what you are going there for anyway! Lastly...you only live once so don't be scared to try something new and different you may just find something that you will fall in love with.
