Ear Infections
Ear infections are one of the most common childhood illnesses. Usually there is a preceding cold/viral illness. Many times, a child will complain of an earache. If this occurs, acetaminophen or ibuprofen may be administered for pain, and the child should be evaluated by the pediatrician.

Immunizations
A physical exam is recommended yearly. Please check with your health insurance provider to determine if these well-child visits are covered under your policy. A yearly physical exam is required for all children with chronic medical problems. Yearly exams may also be required by schools, camps, or sports programs. A booster dose of Adacel and the Gardasil and Menactra vaccines will be given to children ages 11 years and up. Hep B and Hep A immunizations will be given to older children who have not yet been immunized. Also, a catch-up dose of Prevnar 13 will be given to children ages 2-5 years if they did not receive it prior.

It provides Comprehensive Care. The primary care medical home is accountable for meeting the large majority of your child’s physical and mental health care needs, including prevention and wellness, acute care, and chronic care. Providing comprehensive care requires a team of care providers. This team includes physicians, nurses,, nutritionists, social workers, educators, and care coordinators. We can build “virtual teams” linking ourselves and our patients to providers and services in our community.
