Even though you do not have any teeth, you still have to take care of your mouth. Daily cleaning of your tongue and gums with a soft brush or washcloth is advised. Yearly visits to the dentist are recommended for patients with complete dentures. A dentist will check the health of your gum tissue, conduct an oral cancer screening, clean your dentures, and check the fit of your dentures at your annual visit. Dentures do not last a lifetime. Your dentist will advise you when it is time to replace your dentures due to poor fit or worn teeth.

Great care and service - from the beginning to the end of my visit! When I arrived to my visit, I was immediately greeted by a receptionist at the center of the desk with a smile, and a very pleasant check in process. It was clear she enjoys her work and cares about professional service. Next, I was greeted by my dental hygienist Cassie. Cassie also greeted me with a big smile and a very positive attitude toward her work. Cassie is an excellent dental hygienist. Over my many decades of dental cleanings with a variety of providers, I have had a few negative experiences, which is why I recognize and value a comfortable dental cleaning. Next was my time with Dr Rozendaal, who is a professional, competent, and kind provider. She listened to my concerns and provided answers to my questions. Overall, this was another excellent dental experience. As I walked out of the clinic, I felt a great deal confidence with this dental practice. If you are looking for dental practice, I would highly recommend Dental Health Associates to anyone seeking a positive and professional dental experience.

Tooth Extractions
Many tooth extractions are simple, and can be performed by your Dental Health Associates dentist at an ordinary office visit. These procedures are completed with localized numbing with local anesthetic, often in a shorter time period than most patients expect. If your tooth will require greater manipulation of the structures surrounding the tooth, such as with impacted wisdom teeth, your dentist may refer you to a specialist, such as an oral surgeon or periodontist. If you prefer to be sedated for your tooth removal, talk with your dentist. They may suggest the use of nitrous oxide, medications, or general anesthesia with a specialist.

Dr. Ammar Alsamawi is an orthodontic specialist at our Sun Prairie Clinic, Fitchburg Clinic, and West Clinic. He knew from a very young age that he wanted to be in the dental field.
