Cataract Surgery
An intraocular lens (IOL) is an artificial lens used to replace the eye’s natural lens during cataract surgery or clear/refractive lens exchange |(CLE/RLE). The natural crystalline lens refracts light as it enters the eye, focusing it on the retina to create the images we see. As we age, the lens can become cloudy, which we refer to as a cataract.
