Defence Lab is an international network of martial art training centers. The main style

that they teach at all the locations is called DNA (formerly Keysi Fighting Method). This art is not a traditional martial art, nor is it a sport martial art. It is designed specifically for defense against single & multiple opponents who are armed & unarmed. One of the aspects that makes it unique is that it teaches you to fight in different positions such as sitting & kneeling. Although there are many Labs around the country, as of this writing, the Lynbrook school is one of only three Defence Labs in the U.S.A. (And THE only one in New York State) that is headed by instructors who are black belts in DNA. So if you are looking to learn effective self defense in a safe, friendly environment with instructors who are very approachable and you live in or are willing to travel to Lynbrook, N.Y., then Defence Lab Lynbrook is definitely for you!

Defence Lab is an international group of schools dedicated to self defense for practical purposes and every day situations. "DNA", the main style, is an advanced version of KFM, as seen in "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight" and several other films. Besides getting a good workout and learning something useful, you will find as I have that the two lead instructors, John Leabo and Mike Simon, are top notch as instructors and individuals. Indeed, the entire DL community is made up of people open to learning and sharing new ideas in a safe, friendly environment. I live in Manhattan and have made the easy commute to Long Island for 5 years now because they and this system are that good.
