Overall

I love Showtime! They treat their clients like family and the owners are great. Nichole Reason is great with the kids. My daughter has been riding there for over 2 years. She started when she was only 4 years old and had to ride in the double saddle with Nicole. She has now started showing and has been doing great thanks to Nichole's instruction. My daughter also has a wonderful time at the summer camp, the special overnight events, and season get togethers that Showtime hosts.

Overall

The only thing they have going is the facility is decent. There are a lot of things wrong with this business.

#1: The trainer (Greg Reason) is dishonest, deceitful, rude, and obnoxious. He drinks alcohol while hauling customers horses to and from shows and also drinks during the shows. He is very liberal in giving medications to horses, legal or illegal, and he has no concern or knowledge of show rules. He often makes lewd and inappropriate comments, especially to female clients regardless of their age. Husbands, keep a close eye on your wives, and parents on your daughters around this trainer.

#2: Customers are expected to "help out" around the farm with no compensation for doing things such as cleaning stalls, getting horses ready for training, feeding horses, and cleaning around the farm. Trainer will punish the client if they do not participate in these chores.

#3: Horses in "training" are allowed to be ridden by lesson students on a weekly basis, and they are often cared for (groomed, fed, etc) by clients instead of the trainer, barn staff, or paid grooms.

#4: Lessons are not tailored to the individual, and you are often forgotten about during the lesson and given no instruction. Sometimes though, you are given instruction that is not beneficial nor helpful, especially if the "trainer" is giving your lesson.

#5: Sometimes, clients there "helping out" are asked to give lessons to paying clients, usually small children. These are not professionals, nor are they qualified to give lessons.

If you welcome being taken advantage of and treated like a door mat, by all means this is the place for you. If you want a professional taking care of your horse and giving you lessons, and you want to be treated with respect as a client, I would suggest you find another barn.
