Vaccination
In order to have a TeleMedicine appointment, our practice must have performed a TeleHealth Entry Physical (if we have not seen your horse in the past year) or a routine annual physical (often done at vaccination visits). This allows us to establish your horses baseline "normal" such as pre-existing health concerns, allergies, heart and lung health, and eye exam. By establishing your horses baseline we can better answer any questions or concerns you may have. By having this basic exam this also allows for a valid VCPR between all parties involved. Think of TeleMedicine as advice like you would receive on a radio talk show while TeleHealth is when we know you and your horse and have a working relationship.
Veterinary Ophthalmology
After graduation, Dr. Nunnery completed a surgery and medicine internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, KY. During her internship Dr. Nunnery was dedicated to learning more about the eye and spent free time with Dr. Claire Latimer one of the only solely equine ophthalmologists. Directly after her internship Dr. Nunnery completed a three year residency in comparative ophthalmology at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, FL. During her residency she was trained, mentored and complete research with Dr. Dennis Brooks the world renowned equine ophthalmologist. She was honored with the "Jules & Lucy Silver Animal Bedside Manner Award" given by the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 2009. Dr. Nunnery was board certified and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2010.

Parasites Treatment and Control
As part of our routine care we recommend horses being seen bi-annualy to receive routine preventative vaccinations and wellness examinations. These are vital in catching illnesses early on and helping to prevent issues from occurring. We also recommend a dental visit once to twice yearly and bi-annual fecal counts to aid in parasite control. By testing twice a year we can tailor a custom deworming schedule to your horses needs to avoid parasitic resistance in the population. Along with specialized testing in our in-house laboratory we also offer outside testing services such as; EIA/AGID testing, EPM, histopathology, cultures and sensitivities, transtracheal and bronchoalveolar lavage analysis, PSSM/HYPP, metabolic panels, progesterone, lyme multiplex assays, cryptorchid panels, Vit E and selenium levels, leptospirosis, and TK-1 testing. These are just some of the many tests we can run with our partnered outside laboratories.

Arthritis Treatment
Defects in articular cartilage can induce osteoarthritis by causing molecular changes in the synovial fluid. Laboratory Services
Wolf Creek Equine strives to provide a safe and easy surgery center equipped with the necessary tools for any procedure and occasion that may arise. Anesthesia monitoring begins as soon as the horse is brought into our padded drop-stall which our anesthesia technician stays with the patient through the entire procedure until back safely into their stall. Our in-house laboratory offers additional monitoring during surgery to help our anesthesiologist monitor patients during emergency and elective procedures.

Equine Vet
Brooke graduated from Rutgers University in 2015 with a major in PreVet/ Animal Sciences and a minor in Equine Sciences. Growing up in NJ she spent her early years competing in hunter/jumpers before switching to western cutting, roping, and bull riding. During college and shortly after Brooke worked at the racetrack where she trained racehorses, trained to become a jockey, was an assistant trainer, exercise and breeze rider, and owned some racehorses. After 5 years on the racetrack she followed her educational studies and became an equine vet tech at Running S Equine Hospital in Califon, NJ until moving to Maryland. In MD she studied anesthesia in a small animal practice and started her own horse training business in 2018 before joining WCEH in spring of 2019. In the Spring of 2020 she took over position as horse trainer and manager for Dr. Mende’s breeding and sale business as well. In her spare time she trains horses as well as her own and actively competes as a professional barrel racer and trainer.
