Located in Long Beach, Calif., Long Beach City College is approved by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The college s academic and vocational programs include studies in accounting, economics, geography, sociology and philosophy. Additionally, the college has departments for sociology, marketing, history and political science, and computer applications and office technologies. Its athletics department offers a variety of sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer and softball. In addition, the college s sports activities include tennis, volleyball, golf, water polo, and swimming and diving. The library at Long Beach City College provides various resources, including books, journals, encyclopedias, electronic books, CDs and DVDs. Long Beach City College offers disabled students programs and services that include assistance with note taking and test taking, and interpretive services and alternative media.
