General Info: Total Tree Care, Inc., practicing modern arboriculture since 2000. We specialize in large and difficult removals, proper pruning, stump grinding, and plant health care. We also sell firewood and can custom cut lumber with our sawmill. Owner Mark Malmstrom has been an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist since 1994. Crew members David Aldous and David Reynolds are also Certified Arborists. We keep up to date on the latest research and developments in tree care with annual training. We are experienced in crane removals and pruning large trees. We also train our employees in structural pruning of small and medium sized trees to minimize structural defects and develop an attractive long lived tree. Tree Removal and Planting

Tree Removal
This largely depends on the size of the job. However, our crew members work quickly and efficiently to reduce the overall time spent on the job. Most jobs take less than one day, even for large tree removals.
Stump Grinding and Removal
Stump grinding is an effective way to remove stumps and make way for landscaping, a new tree, or to improve appearance. We own one of the largest, most powerful stump grinders in the area. This allows us to grind deeper and faster than other machines. In fact we been called in to finish grinding many stumps started by other companies or homeowners.
Tree Planting

Yes. We are trained in fruit tree pruning, and can prune them in a way that facilitates ease of harvesting, quality of fruit and overall health of the tree.

Tree Cabling and Bracing
Trees with cracks, splits, and other defects such as bark inclusions can often be saved or have their lives extended with proper assessment and application of cabling and bracing hardware. We use extra high strength cable (EHS) and RigGuy terminations which maintain the strength of the cable and are minimally invasive. We also use steel bracing rods, especially to bring split trees back together and supplement cables. Where the static steel cables are not desired we also use a nylon Cobra system that is not invasive and allows the tree to grow and flex naturally. All trees cannot be saved or made safer with cabling and bracing but it is a viable option in many cases. We have saved or extended the lives of historic trees including the State Champion Kentucky Coffee tree, Ginkgo, and White oak.
