Horace Mann Insurance

My car was hit by one of their policyholders. They were TERRIBLE to work with. They were slow to respond and cost me $ because of it. Then, they lowballed me completely on their settlement offer. They wouldn't even consider my list of comparable vehicles that were much more similar to my vehicle than to the 2 comps they used. The Horace Mann claim rep Andrew C. was a complete jerk, combative at every step. Finally, I had to speak to his boss. He was more pleasant, but repeatedly referred to the "minimum" they are required to do by law. That seems to be their approach. Do the ABSOLUTE minimum they can get away with legally.

I'd stay away from this company. And, if you're hit by one of their customers, prepare for a hassle and major loss.
