Plymouth Woods Apartments

While the property of Plymouth Woods looks nice, the units are terrible. I lived at Plymouth Woods for a while. Upon movie in I paid a non-refundable cleaning fee but the unit was NOT clean.



I will spare you all of the details of every incident experienced as it would just appear that I am complaining because there are so many over the years of my residency. But please read this entire review. I am speaking honestly.



Renee in the office is unreasonable, controlling and belligerent. She appears somewhat nice up until you sign your lease but if you are aware or observant of human behavior you can tell she is white-knuckling her way through appearing pleasant. If you kiss her a$$, you'll be ok. Challenge her and she will make your life absolutely miserable. If she doesn’t like you and you utilize the drop box to pay your rent be prepared. Renee will say she has no record of ever receiving your rent. And then say, “you can use the drop box for your convenience”. Consider yourself warned!



Do not get your hopes up thinking you will get quality maintenance. You’re lucky if you get any at all. First if Renee decides maintenance it isn’t necessary her decision is final and you will not get maintenance even if you have water pouring in your window and everything around the window is stained and rotten. The response you will receive will the “we came out to inspect and there is no evidence of a leak or water damage at this time”. The maintenance guy (if you want to call him that) is a joke. And he’s a creep.



The units are old and they are maintained a minimum standards. The windows are old, the seals are bad and the units are freezing in the winter. The furnace is ancient and runs constantly. You can set the thermostat at 70, 72 or 75 but you will be lucky to maintain 65 in the winter. And don’t you dare ask for a new thermostat even if the 25 year old thermostat doesn’t work. Your utility bills with be extremely high. If you decide to move in; when you call Consumers Energy just put yourself on the payment plan because when your $680 January bill arrives you’ll be thankful. February will be just as bad.



If you decide to move to Plymouth Woods Apartment despite the warnings I urge you to document everything and take a lot of photos/videos. Trust me on this one!



Please keep looking for a different apartment. And when you move out do not expect your security deposit back even if the apartment is in perfect condition. Get a receipt and ask for a letter that your paid in full. Then keep an eye on your credit report, years later you will find Renee sent you to collections. I am telling you she will make your life a living hell.



I encourage you to do a little research on who actually owns Plymouth Woods and Arbor Woods (also located in Livonia).

Beware of Plymouth Woods Apartments. The apartments are old and not updated. Once you get an apartment your stuck. Dishwasher wont work, water heater leaks and washer and dryer doesn't work-FORGET IT! Management blames you and they never fix it. Harmful living conditions, especially if you have kids. In the end they will take your security deposit no matter how you leave the apartment.

They dont know what they are doing. They need real maintenance workers and not chemically imbalanced management.
