Pediatric Care
2) If the medical issue is such that it is unsafe to wait and our office is closed, we recommend the Upstate Golisano Hospital ER or Upstate Golisano Pediatrics After Hours Care at Community General. This facility is staffed by Board Certified pediatricians who will provide the most current, quality care.
Primary Care
Victoria grew up in North Syracuse, and graduated from Cicero-North Syracuse High School. She went on to earn her associate’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Nursing. As a registered nurse, she worked on acute care floors in general medicine, cardiac care, and physical medicine & rehabilitation. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in nursing from SUNY Upstate. Victoria has a passion for working with children. For the last 6 years, she has been working as a nurse practitioner in pediatric primary care. Victoria lives in Central Square with her husband, their two adorable children, and their Husky named Cooper.
Family Practice
We believe in the importance of training the next generation of doctors and to this end, we are a teaching practice. We participate in teaching family practice residents from St. Joseph’s Hospital and pediatrics residents from Upstate. Often, there will be residents in our office who will be seeing patients with us.

Immunizations
It is important for your pediatrician to track your child’s development and milestones, check blood levels, and administer vaccinations. Infants are seen at 2 weeks, and at 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months. An annual well child exam is recommended thereafter.

Labor and Delivery
Hannah Thornton is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who brings years of experience in pediatric primary care, neonatology and breastfeeding medicine.Originally from New Hampshire, she graduated from Boston College with her B.S. in nursing and worked as a registered nurse in both Labor & Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care. Hannah pursued her advanced nursing degree from Stony Brook University and obtained a M.S. in Nursing and became certified as a nationally board certified pediatric nurse practitioner.She has worked as an NP in pediatric practices in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and most recently in the NICU at Crouse Hospital caring for critically ill infants. Hannah lives in Manlius with her husband and three children.She looks forward to seeing patients for acute and well child visits, as well as providing lactation and newborn support.We are delighted that Hannah will be part of the CHCA “family”!

Autism
In addition to antigens, vaccines contain ingredients to prevent contamination and improve effectiveness. These ingredients have been found to be safe in humans in the quantities given in vaccines, which is much less than children are exposed to in their environment, food and water. Valid scientific studies have shown there is no link between autism and thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative once used in several vaccines (and still used in some flu vaccines). However, since thimerosal was removed from childhood vaccines in 2001, autism rates have actually increased, supplying further evidence that thimerosal does not cause autism.
