Mantrom Tax Service

I would not recommend this place to anyone! They are extremely over priced and their customer service was appalling. I don't think they are even one star worthy. 0 stars!!

Completely agree with Molly below. The place is a joke. He charged me 435. Although that was never mentioned in our "meeting" in the beginning. Not only are they completely overpriced, when i went back to ask questions, he made me feel stupid... I thought they would mail in your returns. He looked at me like I asked what are those fluffy white things in the sky. Just very sketchy, make you feel like you will be taken care of in the beginning and then the fruit goes bad. Misleading, and not customer service oriented. You think for 435 they could at least sit down with me and explain everything. I came to them so I could better understand not only what deductions I could have but feel confident that they were done right at a decent price. Complete opposite experience. He doesnt even do the taxes, some girl did it. Never met her either. I should have recognized the red flags in the beginning,(other bad reviews as well). I will not be going back to them, and I will not be referring anyone that way. The funniest thing is, I didnt save anything instead I owe almost 5 digits.

To cap it off, I said well for 435 I thought i would get some guidance and the full service, filing mailing it in etc.. I could have saved a ton of money with turbo tax for the same thing.. He said "well maybe thats what you should do next year." Dont worry, I will be.

I believe this tax preparer is way over priced. I am new to the area and I felt comfortable going to Mantrom because Mr. Mantrom appeared qualified, but is not a CPA. I didn't want to or expect to pay CPA prices. But I did. My taxes are still very, very basic requiring only 1040 forms and one scheduled form. I used to pay roughly $100 in Louisville and Mr. Mantrom arrogantly charged me $245. My part is that I did not ask the questions I intended to ask him, such as his price, prior to beginning our taxes. He met me at the door, shuffled me back to his office and immediately began working on my taxes. I wish I would have asked him ahead of time how much he intended to charge! Lesson learned, but I will definitely not return next year.
