Nutritional Consultation
Manipulation Therapy
Like physical therapists, chiropractors receive formal training on active care, or rehab exercises. Research has shown that a combination of manual therapy along with corrective exercises is the best approach to treating musculoskeletal pain syndromes. All of our providers have additional certifications as a CSCS, or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Spinal Decompression
DTS Therapy is a leading non-surgical alternative to surgery. It is a pain-free solution that has shown a very high rate of successfully reducing or even eliminating back or neck pain. In as few as 12 treatments, you may have relief of chronic debilitating low back or neck pain or even referral pain, which may shoot into the legs, buttocks and arms. Decompression therapy increases circulation to the spinal discs and joints with gentle cycles of distraction/stretching of the spinal structures.
Myofascial Therapy
Dr. Daly is an experienced chiropractor, who has been practicing evidenced based care in the Rochester area since 2012. Throughout his career he has treated a variety of patients and conditions including: work injuries, motor vehicle accidents, sports injuries, as well as everyday aches and pains. He is well versed in chiropractic manipulation, non-surgical decompression, distraction therapy, Graston technique, myofascial release, Active Release Technique, electric stimulation therapy, and rehabilitation.
Therapeutic Exercise
When your treatment is completed, recommendations for home measures will be reviewed. These will typically include suggestion for the appropriate use of ice and/or heat, positions of rest with modification principles for your activities of daily living, and appropriate therapeutic exercises for the affected region. When in the office, you are encouraged to ask any questions that you may have.
Flexion Distraction Therapy
Chiropractors are generally considered to be spinal specialists although they are trained in the biomechanical function of every articulation of the human framework. The hallmark of chiropractic treatment is centered on the “adjustment” process, or manipulation, addressing the manual re-setting of the movement pattern and biomechanical, neurologic and vascular function of a particular joint. Most modern day chiropractors utilize a full compliment of physical therapies and therapeutic modalities in the treatment of musculoskeletal complaints. Common forms of treatment may include the use of ice, heat, electronic muscle stimulation, ultrasound, cold laser treatment, traction, flexion-distraction, spinal decompression, and a variety of soft tissue techniques including active release technique (ART), myofascial release, and massage. Many chiropractors incorporate rehabilitative exercise protocols as a part of their treatment for an individual patient. This can range from low tech flexibility and stabilization methods, to very advanced physical training in a complete gym setting. Often this will include an in depth physiologic assessment and nutritional consultation.
Acupuncture
It is not unusual for chiropractors to refer out to other specialists, or to “co-treat” with other medical providers in addition to the general practitioner. Chiropractors will commonly send patients out for advanced imaging, blood work, orthopedic and/or neurosurgical consultation, pain management, acupuncture and massage therapy. As portal of entry providers, many chiropractors will additionally send out narrative reports to the primary care physician detailing their examination findings and treatment plan. In this regard, chiropractors are well positioned to assist in the complete care needs of an individual patient.
