Moonrise Cafe

Best breakfast in the STATE, or several states. We love this place. Small and cozy, friendly and lots of great food. My favorite is the eggs benedict served with their crispy, wonderful hash browns. He loves their biscuits and gravy! Make sure you get some thick sliced bacon, always cooked to perfection. Just don't get there too late, as they are only open for breakfast and lunch.

From my experience, you don't always find a restaurant situated within a strip mall, especially in Lakewood, that truly exceeds all expectations of a small diner. I have visited the Moonrise Cafe twice and am very impressed, not only with their excellent service, but their menu as well. Moments after being seated, you will be speaking to one of their energetic waitresses asking what you want to drink, and not too much longer after that, they are taking your order. Sam is one of their waitresses, she's the one with the brightest smile. Which takes me to their menu; for a small diner, their menu offers a host of choices. I have had their salads and a burger, both fresh and served quickly. And before I forget, their soup is OUTSTANDING! With all this said, an even better part of this diner is the COST. I don't think any of their menu items exceeded $8, and with that, you definitely get a plate full of home cooked food.
