- Our Central Florida Airboat Ride is approximately 1 hr to 1 hr & 15 minutes. The boat is set up where everyone has a great view. Ear protection is provided for everyone and we have life vests for the kids. Under 6 is required by law to wear. What to bring: recommend sunglasses and extra layer or jacket during cooler weather. Camera, plenty of opportunities so don't forget that! Capt. Kevin & Capt. Barrett are native Floridians, born and raised on Lake Kissimmee. The tour takes your group along the shoreline of the 3rd largest lake, through the back-water marshes and around a unique fresh water island. This place was beyond disappointing and their business practice is terrible. Saying I'm upset is an understatement.
For my birthday all I wanted to do was have an extended weekend fishing trip with some good 'ol Southern hospitality. I got neither.
My other half reserved a cabin and a boat. (Our boat was too big and out of the water for upgrades) The woman that took our reservations told us that their two boats were currently down for maintenance, but should be up and running by the time we planned on going and she would call to let us know when they came out of the shop.
No phone call with an update so to be proactive we called to find out. Long story short I had a not so nice conversation with the Manager who informed me that yes the boats were out of service but they did not reserve one for us and there were NONE left!
I explained to her this was for my birthday and was a fishing trip and asked what she was going to do to rectify the situation. All she offered was an apology! Let's just forget the fact that you just ruined someone's birthday present, an apology? Being in Customer Service myself an apology for this situation was unacceptable. She did not offer alternative dates, discount, refer us to another place for a boat, nothing, absolutely squat! So much for Southern Hospitality and I am from Florida!
Do not go here as this place obviously does not care about their customers. Now I'm left scrambling last minute trying to find an alternative place to go and I just wanted a relaxing weekend to go fishing. Thanks for ruining my birthday!
