General Info

The business was started by G. A. Becnel in the 1960's. In the 70's he sold the business to Behring International and was employed with them as a Customhouse Broker. In 1983 he purchased the Lake Charles office back from Behring and with the assistance of two of his sons G. A. Becnel Broker was back in business. The firm was incorporated in 1986 and purchased by Karl and Jean Becnel in 1989. Karl had received his Brokers license in 1986 and was both able and qualified to manage the then thriving business his father had started. Karl passed from this life in 2005 leaving the business to his wife Jean. Jean along with the help of Customs Broker David Becnel continued to operate the business together. In 2008 David chose to leave the company as its Broker opening the way for more growth opportunity. Jean has worked in the offices of G. A. Becnel, Inc for more than 20 years starting out first as the Bookkeeper and then went on to manage the Export side of the business. We continue to operate as a Freight Forwarder, Ocean Transportation Intermediary and are ever ready to meet your International Shipping needs.
