Please contact me if you have any contact info for this man and the "so called" company. We hired him to replace a roof for us and he came and got half of the $ never showed back up or anything. We are trying to sue him, but cannot find anywhere to send the summons! Please help!!! 317-280-0649 Valerie

1. Avoid sleazy or shady tactics.

The first thing to do is make sure you're not being scammed. Beware these 10 red flags:



The contractor ...



Provides credentials or references that can't be verified.

Offers a special price, but only if you sign a contract today.

Accepts only cash, requires large deposits or wants the entire cost up front.

Asks you to write a check in his name (not to the business).

Won't provide a written contract or complete bid.

Refuses to apply for building permits, and asks you to get them.

Offers exceptionally long warranties.

Proposes to do most or all of the work on weekends and after-hours.

Gives you a low-ball offer that sounds too good to be true.

Has "Will work for beer" painted on the side of his trucks.

I wouldn't hire this guy. Hired him to fix the plumbing, he came over the first day, did 1/4 of the job, and never came back. I paid the guy in full too. When I went to the address on the business card, it was an apartment complex that he didn't live at. Wouldn't recommend him, he tells a convincing story, but unless you only want some of the job done at full price, I would go with someone else.

DO NOT HIRE JIM ANDERSON / RC CONSTRUCTION!!! I hired Jim to level a home that was settling in the South part of my home. I explained the situation exactly over the phone, and he said the absolute highest would be $1000. He comes out and changes his estimate to $1800. This is 100% acceptable with me, as it was only an over the phone quote, and he CLAIMED to be bonded and insured. (This turned out to be false, even though he hands you an insurance certificate...make sure to check into that first). He wrote me out an agreement that he was to dig 12 holes, pour concrete in them, then put 12 jacks on the south side, and raise the home over a period of a couple weeks. This sounded great, as it was the procedure done for the north side. Started seeing immediate results in the first week, and he was paid in full, as the house did appear about 80 leveled. He claimed that he would be back up to tweak the jacks once the house settled and it would be even better. HERE'S THE BAD PART~~~ He took jacks from other parts of the house that were worked on by a different contractor and just set them on concrete pads laying on UNLEVELED ground! (he didn't dig a thing..) So once the house settled where the jacks were supposed to be, the house LITERALLY STARTED TWISTING!!! Also, since the used jacks were installed crooked by him, those jacks are now about to fall down. I paid him $1800, and after another inspector looked over the job, there is only evidence that he purchased ONE jack, and it wasn't even the right one!!! Now I have MULTIPLE CRACKS ALL OVER MY HOME! He raves about his "10 year warranty", which he wrote on my contract, but I have called him TONS of times, sent him TONS of texts, and at least 50 emails with NO REPLY. He claimed to be in Arizona for a funeral, but I have proof that he was working on another job when he claimed to be there. This guy feeds TONS of excuses as to why he is late or can't show up. PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE IT! CONTACT ME FOR MORE DETAILS! I am about to file a lawsuit on him in the next few weeks.



UPDATE: We had to contact Jim Anderson's references when he refused to reply to any calls, texts, or e-mails. It just so happens Jim Anderson was working for the guy I called when he claimed to be at his mother's funeral out of state. The reference made Mr. Anderson contact me, of which he first claimed he was going to sue me for defamation, then he said he would issue a refund because the work wasn't completed and I should expect it in 4 days...it's been 4 weeks and he magically doesn't receive any of my calls, texts, or emails again. We are currently filing with the Attorney General. Again, DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY! HE DOES NOT COMPLETE THE WORK! Now we have to go through the court system to get our money back, a much bigger hassle than just avoiding him.

I had jim from rc construction remodel my bathroom and install 16 new windows and 2 exterior doors. I was impressed with the professionalism and knowlage. All work was done on time and under
budget. It was a very stress free expernice. And the level of work and craftmanship for the money makes me recomend Rc construction for all your needs.

We had Jim Anderson from RC Construction come in and do our hardwood floors. He was reasonably priced and did a wonderful job for us. I would recommend RC Construction for any of you home repair needs, Also as a person he is one of the best people I have had the opportunity to meet.

I had Jim from rc construction replace the roof on my home. He was professional and courteous kept the job site clean and did a incredible job. I would reefer him to anyone!!! wish all contractors were as professional as he was
