Founded in 2001, Contra Costa Jewish Day School ( CCJDS ) is a Kindergarten through 8th grade independent community Jewish Day School that provides a full-day elementary school curriculum. CCJDS welcomes families from all backgrounds committed to the school's mission. CCJDS provides superior academics in both general and Judaic studies. Small class sizes, an outstanding staff, and parent support foster a warm, positive learning environment. We develop the whole child, helping our students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. At each grade CCJDS has challenging standards for expository writing, mathematics, science, creative expression and critical thinking. Self-expression through art, music, and drama are also essential components of our holistic approach. Our talented teachers utilize innovative instructional methods and individuate curriculum to meet diverse learning styles and abilities. CCJDS cultivates lifelong learning and devotion to Jewish community and tikkun olam ( healing the world ).
