Mark's Marine Diesel-Fl Keys

Marks Marine diesel (also known as Marine Diesel of the Florida Keys) is incompetent and a 58 minute U tube video proves it. Seems incapable of anything. Mark came very highly recommended. Last spring (yes that is how long this has been going on) he was to repair a small fuel leak on my injector pump. He removes the throttle lever cover to replace the gasket. He cannot remember which hole to put the link lever was in. Upon completion the engine would only reach 1600RPM. He guessed the wrong hole. He took it apart again reset the throttle link to the next hole. Now we got to 2200 RPM. This is my cruising rpm. It should go to 3000. Mark now very frustrated and said you have to get by with this and I'll fix it when you return in the winter. If he had any knowledge of this engine he would have known the the ID plate has a number which indicates what hole the link lever goes in! 2 days later the leak was back. It's a small leak but still a leak. We went on with our plans. Returning in November to Key West. With one reason after another as to why he cannot be here. Finally he shows up on FEB 14! He put it in the 3rd hole and reassembles. Pressurizing the fuel system for bleeding I now have a massive fuel leak between the body and the throttle lever cover. He has to order a new gasket. Says he will be back Thursday the 16th. Again another no show or not even a call. He finally shows up on Wed the 23rd of February. Puts the new Gasket on and it still leaks all over! He then announces to me that he cannot fix it and leaves. I didn%u2019t attempt to fix this myself because I did not have a manual for the inside of the injection pump. I kept looking on line for a manual. This time around I find a 58 minute video on resealing this pump. This is where I found out about the throttle link and the correct hole. Additionally at 18 minutes into the video It shows how to put the cover plate back on. You have to turn the fuel shut off lever to engage a hook as you push the cover on. I go to my engine and the fuel shut off lever is locked in place. I loosen the nuts and VICTORY the lever moves. I turn the lever as I push down on the housing and the gasket seats! No more massive fuel leak just the original one. Stay away from this shop/person.
