Tree Cabling and Bracing
Cabling and bracing are the two most common forms of structural support performed on a tree. Many tree species form tight, V-shaped branch forks or split crotches. When there is a small angle between branches, there is a weak union. As the branches grow, bark is pushed against bark. This bark between branches is called “included bark.” Branches with included bark between them cannot have a strong union of wood fiber. As they get larger and heavier, they become susceptible to splitting.
Arborist Services
Fertilization treatments promote the health of your trees and shrubs. Nutrients and soil amendments are injected directly into the plant’s root zone. Some of the nutrients are utilized immediately. However, the bulk of the fertilizer remains in the root zone for future use, providing for a stable over-wintering and full spring development. In addition to basic fertilizer (N-P-K or nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium), your arborist may recommend a custom blend of organic additives and soil amendments.

Trees are commonly planted too deep or have excess soil or mulch covering the root flares resulting in decline, girdling root formation, root rot and even tree death. Rope or twine left around the roots when planted is another common cause of girdling root formation. Girdled roots grow around the main stem of the tree and cut off or restrict the movement of water, plant nutrients and stored food reserves. Wood Acres Tree Specialists can perform root collar correction to give your tree an optimally healthy root system.
