We are a professional, regional, independent insurance business. We are independent insurance agents representing many of the most distinguished companies in the insurance industry. We are not obligated to any one company but, rather we look to the one that can offer the most to suit your individual needs. Because insurance is our business, we have the time and need for keeping abreast of changing coverages and markets. You benefit because you are informed when these changes affect you and your insurance program. From the time you place your insurance with us, until the final payment of a claim is made, we will do our best to insure that you and your property are protected in the right manner. The care with which we serve our clients indicates our pride in contributing to their success. Baker Welman Brown has been serving the people of Southeast Missouri, Northeast Arkansas and beyond since 1939. Charles B. Baker, J. C. Welman and T. A. Brown, Jr. founded the agency with the purchase of the Oaks Insurance Agency. We began doing business as Baker-Welman Insurance Agency in March of 1939. The agency has increased in size during the years due to the hard work and reputation that we have gained from excellent service. The size of the agency has also been increased with the purchase of A. M. Douglas & Jim Oliver Insurance Agency in 1943 ; the Bryant Insurance Agency in 1956, the Rutherford Insurance Agency in 1967 and the Pickard-Southern Insurance Agency in 1985. In 1961 the name of the agency was changed to its present name of Baker Welman Brown INSURANCE. To better serve the entire needs of our clients we purchased the George F. Carter & Associates Life Insurance General Agency in 1982. We can provide you with a full line of life, health and benefit coverages. In 1989 we added a new service by offering investments to our clients which we now provide exclusively through Wilbanks Securities, Inc, Oklahoma City, OK, member FINRA SIPC. Our office is located at 204 St. Francis Street in Kennett, Missouri, just two blocks west of the Dunklin County Courthouse.

Not every employer can afford to pay for healthcare or life insurance plans for their staff members, but that doesn’t mean your business can’t offer them any type of medical benefits. Instead, your business can sign up for group voluntary benefits, which can lower costs for staff without any cost to the employer.

Commercial Liability Insurance
A Business Owners Policy (BOP) combines business property and business liability insurance into one convenient policy. We’ll work with you to design coverage that protects your business from a variety of risks, unique to your industry.
General liability insurance mainly covers bodily injury to people outside of your business and physical damage to their property. A few exceptions to this principle include data loss and reputation damage (for example, if one of your business’ staff members defames a client). It’s important to note that general liability coverage doesn’t apply to cases where you are sued for giving inadequate professional advice. Errors & omissions insurance (E&O) can help to protect your business from that specific type of risk.
