We purchased a geothermal syst...

We purchased a geothermal system from them that cost OVER $21,000 and were treated terribly – how do they treat customers only purchasing a regular HVAC system at half the cost? We used them since my uncle has worked there for years. We thought having a family connection would ensure we were treated well, but unfortunately, we were very wrong and we got the exact opposite effect. They seemed very nice, until the very day that we signed the contract with them. From there on out we were treated different.
To sum it up, CHC is very unprofessional and much too big to care. They won’t admit to any mistakes, so you’ll never hear any apologies – anything that goes wrong is somehow the your fault, and there is no one to take responsibility. I’m very disappointed with our decision to use CHC.
For those of you that want to read the specifics, we started building this fall, so this all happened months ago, but here is what I can remember:
They rarely return our phone messages in a timely manner. When I was called back, I was told that I should have been leaving messages on a cell number, and not at the office. Therefore, their lack of a response was apparently my fault for leaving messages at the office.
Several times, they did not come out when they said they were going to. It is like their left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing. One person would tell us one thing, and another would tell us something completely different.
Getting them out to do any work was like pulling teeth – we were clearly a problem to them and their busy schedules.
When they finally did get started, they did not complete the first install part, but instead left 4 large boxes full of stuff in my garage for over a month that had to be moved several times.
When I called them to see when they would finish, I was told that they were not going to install it until I was done painting – which had absolutely nothing to do with them finishing their job. They were just giving me an excuse for why they were not completing the job. In addition, how were they supposed to know when I was done painting – I was the one that had to call them to schedule the install – they never once called me to schedule anything. As a result, we had to work through the cold winter with no heat because they did not have the time to come finish their job.
Once they were finished it was brought to my attention (by my uncle) that they installed a filter in a spot that cannot be changed without completely detaching the filter holder from the system – if they would have done this right, the filter should just slide out when I need to change it two times a year.
So we finally get it finished, and it’s time to pay. I called and asked about using a credit card and was told it was fine. When I paid, they decided to charge me a credit card processing fee – which ended up being nearly $400. Now I’ll admit this is our fault - they had put mention of this fee in the signed contract, but we had totally missed it since it was part of the fine print that only lawyers really pay attention to. To justify their unethical credit card fee practice, they also told us that everyone else does it. So I thought about it and not one other business that we used in the entire construction of our home had charged a credit card processing fee – and we used our credit card with anyone that would accept it – i.e. WBC, Wrights Lumber, Pro-Build, Taylor Insulation, etc. We decided to research it further, so when we attended the Home & Garden showcase at the fairgrounds this spring we asked every vendor there if they charge this fee – not one said they did! It is our fault for not reading the fine print, but shame on them for doing something this shady.

I have been working with Central for all of my HVAC needs since 2013 when I purchased a home. They have provided me fair pricing and exceptional service! If you need a trustworthy HVAC company, I would suggest giving them a call.

Wow. This is a great company. I wanted to get a sump pump system that would operate automatically that would drain to the outside without me running in and out pulling hoses from other the house and turning on the electricity. Critical for peace of mind at any time especially when I'm away.

They came out within 24 hours, looked at my current system and came up with a plan and estimate that worked for me. They were in the next day and had the entire system up and running, including the electricity (it's part of what they do), answered all my questions, explained exactly what they were going to be doing, cleaned up, and were very pleasant. Highly recommended

I have had Central do two pieces of work for me: install a mini split heating system and do a drain cleaning. Both were done professionally and in a timely manner. All technicians were courteous and knowledgeable. Pricing was clearly presented up front and adhered to. For the mini split, Shawn did a great job of explaining how it worked and all the settings. he also laid down mats inside to prevent tracking anything in and cleaned up thoroughly once completed.

Thank God , I finally found a company that believes in service!! We lost our water heaters to a flood, all the snow melted, we called Central and Jon came out this afternoon, he talked to us about the amount of hot water we need (theres 8 of us in the home.) He recommended a Rinnai Tankless, He the Called Josh S. and they are installing it now. I can't believe it.

I Had Ryan out this weekend for a clogged sewer line. I've had to have it roto- rooted before. thought it would be the same. It wasn't! He showed up on time, and before doing anything talked to me about how often I have the same problem, Then he put a drain camera down the sewer to actually see what the problem was. it was roots from the neighbors tree . No one has ever asked me to do that before! and there was no charge for it. he then told me what he could do either Roto- rooter it, or a process called hydroscour. I chose to have it hydroscoured. as we have had it roto rooted 2x a year for the past 5 years. they put a 1 year warranty on the drain. the hydroscour did a great job, there was nothing left of the roots when he was done. He kept the camera in the sewer so we could see as he cleaned the roots, and everything else out of the line. I could see the pipe was clean. I highly recommend Ryan and the hyroscour process. he was very honest and upfront and gave me some tips to help keep my drain flowing.

Ridiculous. Will NEVER use them. Phoned to book some installed of faucets that I had bought myself. The girl said there was an 89$ charge for them to come give an estimate and that would be used towards the total if you get the work done. I did ask for an approx amount and she had ABSOLUTELY no idea. The fellow comes out and apparently there are several SET prices and his estimate is $1300!!!! You have to be kidding me. Phoned another plumber that will do the whole thing for not even 1/2 that amount and can come the next day. Very sorry that I had them come out. cost me 89$ just to tell them they are crazy Would give them NO stars if I could

ps I wish I would have read the reviews available first on this site and there is one on Angie's list that is similar.....Charged an elderly woman 2200 for a water heater. Should be more like 800 lesson learned

They hire idiots. Had a guy come out cuz we thought we had a Co2 leak and the guy said we didn't. That we just needed to replace our boiler and have our pipes flushed. Then we went and bought a cO monitor. Turns out we were right and had to knock a window out of our house. Then we called to have them send another tech out to fix the issue and they wanted to charge us again. Umm no, your tech messed up with the diagnosis it isn't our fault and shouldn't have to pay again. Plus we were told the wrong price for the initial diagnosis. You want good service? We tried Diamond next and we are very pleased with them. A 1500.00 job just turned into only a few hundred. If I could give less than one star I would

Central has been great to work with! I've used them for all of their offered services (heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical). The technicians are very friendly, they wear shoe covers so they don't get my house dirty (I have white rugs in the bathrooms and have had plumbers literally ruin my rugs with the dirt on their shoes), and they always do their very best to be sure that they have done everything they can to provide the best service they can. They always comment on how nice my animals are, which I appreciate because I know they are paying attention to details. I am very particular about things and I expect the very best but I understand that noone is perfect. I appreciate when people are genuinely nice and try their best, which is what I have experienced with Central!
