Completely emptied, cleaned and spent 6 weeks refilling my pool with my hose. Had Johnston pool close it up so I wouldn't have any issues with the cover coming off. Which happened a couple of years ago when I did it. This is the reason it was cleaned out last year.
Well the cover let go because Johnston pool claims the pillow burst from the weight of the water. I never had this problem in the previous 7 years and they supplied the pillow. They told me they tell all their customers to put an automatic pump on top to pump the water off so this doesn't happen. Well I was a customer of that store for 7 years and I didn't know such a pump even existed.
To add insult to injury, I am trying to clear the pool of the debris to at least clean it up a bit. I realize I need to clean the leaf catch basket attached to the pump. However, Johnston pool neglected to put a shut off valve in line so I could accomplish this. I will have to pump it down below the skimmer and put in a shut off valve before this basket can be emptied.
