Restorative Dentistry
Tooth colored or composite fillings have changed the way we do restorative dentistry. With composite, we do not have to take as much tooth away to do a filling and it is adhesively bonded to your tooth. Traditional silver fillings have no adhesive properties.

She attended the University of Washington for both her undergraduate and dental programs earning first a Bachelors degree in Cellular, Developmental and Molecular Biology and later her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS). During her dental school education, Dr. Reyes volunteered her free time at community outreach programs including Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission where she unknowingly first met Dr. Scoles. It was also during this time she received a strong foundation in dental sciences serving as a teaching assistant for the Fixed Prosthodontics, Immediate Dentures and Complete Denture courses. She was the recipient of the Charles L. Bolender award for Prosthodontics.

At Michael J Scoles DMD, we pride ourselves on being a comprehensive dental office. Performing oral surgery is one more thing we offer that may keep you from having to be referred to a specialist. Safety is a concern for us, we utilize a pulse oximeter during surgery, and the doctors have been trained in advanced cardiac life support. We also have an automatic external defibrillator in both our Renton and Issaquah offices.
Tooth Extractions
From Paisley, Oregon (population 435) to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Michael Scoles’ life and career have taken a nontraditional route in more ways than one. At age 17, Dr. Scoles’ ambition was to become an aeronautical engineer. But after he got to hold the mirror during his wisdom teeth extraction, his fascination turned to the mechanics of dentistry. His passion for building things, however, remained strong.

Orthodontics
Orthodontics: These services include tip edge technique that treats orthodontic issues in a more efficient way. Our six month smiles involve fixing crooked teeth within a four to six month time frame.
Braces
Dr. Scoles is specially trained in the tip edge technique, which is a modern and more advanced version of traditional braces. The technique is commonly used in patients who have issues with overbite, underbite, or overcrowded teeth. There is also a considerable reduction of oral hardware involved as tip edge brackets do not rely on an abundance of wires, anchorage, and applied force.

Teeth Whitening
We meet a lot of patients who have stained or discolored teeth which is one of the many reasons we offer complimentary teeth whitening to our new patients. While there are decent options for at-home teeth whitening that can be purchased at a store, there is no substitution to professional teeth whitening options like Sheer White!
