Hornbrook Community Bible Church

My family and i have been going to Hornbrook Community Bible Church for just over a year now and absolutely love it. I decided to go with my best friend cause she kept asking me and i had never really gone to church before that. I figured as long as i tried it once she would lay off about it, so i went in that first Sunday morning not thinking much would happen but boy was i wrong... I can't really explain it, but it was amazing! I had so many emotions going through me and i couldn't stop crying. It was God opening my heart and my mind to his Glory and it was awesome! Long story short we have been back pretty much every Sunday sense that day. We love Pastor Dave, Jen, their girls and the rest of our family at Hornbrook Community Bible Church!

I recently lost the use of my brakes on the way through Hornbrook CA township n was stranded with only enough money to eat for four days, I went to seek solace here at the church on Sunday. After I attended the Sunday service I was invited by some ladies of the congregation to attend a local mans birthday party,which was just lovely. I had approached pastor Dave after his sermon asking about services but he wouldn't pause to talk with me. He was walking away the whole time I spoke. So I blurted out my brakes needed to be bled I thought but I didn't know anyone there to help me and he pointed to a man walking toward the door, so I ask the nice man if he could help me and he took my number and called me the next day. He was so nice to take my tire off n access the damage, then told me Not to drive as I needed to replace everything, the hub, caliper, shoes, pads, the works. It was Monday and I had two more days till payday so I went inside with Wes and he talked to the pastor. When they came back into the worship hall pastor Dave says what are u going to do? I said I don't know but I guess I need prayer, in which he chuckled. I said I get paid on Wednesday but until then I just need a place to park that's safe to sleep in my truck, I slept under a bridge last night and didn't get much sleep. He says well if you go to Yreka they have more services. Then he gave me directions to drive the back roads, so, as he put it I could drive as slow as I wanted since I had no brakes. So I left feeling very discouraged, unsafe and helpless. I thought to myself would he treat Jesus's mother that way, if she showed up and needed help? I'm an older disabled lady broke down in nowhere land knowing no one and this is how a Man of God reacts? No prayer came out of his mouth! No suggestions of where I might be able to park for two nights, where it was safe to sleep in my vehicle. Just directions to get out of town! I appreciated the ladies that treated me kindly and for Wes who found it in his heart to help me and I can only say that with a Pastor like that we better all pray for this church. Pastor Dave is suppose to be an example of Christs love and care isn't he? Anyway pray for him because out of all the people I met there that day he needs it most.
