Botox
Botox is a medication, and like any other medication, it has a recommended dosage that is to be determined by a medical professional. Botox dosage is measured in units, which ensures that patients will get exactly what they pay for (you are only paying for the amount you need). The best results come from combining the appropriate dosage with precise targeting.
Brow Lift
A brow lift is a simple way of lifting your brow with Botox instead of with surgery. Basically, Botox is injected into the correct spots, creating satisfying results. The position of your brow is partially determined by the balance between a group of muscles pulling the brow up and a group of muscles pulling the brow down. If you can relax the down muscles enough to tilt the balance in favor of the up muscles, then the position of your brow at rest goes up.

Laser Resurfacing
Laser resurfacing is basically a deep laser peel. Either an erbium or CO2 laser is used to ablate the skin on the entire face to a depth necessary to effectively treat the acne scars. This procedure is like an operation and is usually performed in an operating room under general anesthesia. The recovery often lasts two weeks, and carries a risk of infection and scarring. We do not perform erbium nor CO2 laser resurfacing because we do not feel that the benefit of this procedure justifies the risk. And now (for the last two years) we have an alternative that is safe and gives comparable results: fractional resurfacing (using the Fraxel laser).

Acne Treatment
It is typically the second-line treatment for severe or cystic acne that has not responded to other oral (or topical) forms of acne treatment. Sometimes it is our first choice for patients who seem to be at risk for acne scars (which we can treat with acne scar treatment near you in Hollywood FL such as laser treatment for acne scars ), or for patients who come to us after having failed other treatments. Isotretinoin works by shrinking the oil glands in the skin that produce sebum. Sebum attracts bacteria that create acne.
Eczema
Atopic Dermatitis, commonly called Eczema, can cause dry, itchy, sore, and patchy skin on anyone, from infants to adults. It most commonly manifests as red, dry, itchy skin and can be mild to extreme, even in infants. Parents with allergies and eczema may be more likely to have children with eczema, so genetics can be a factor, but not always. Keeping the skin moist and infection-free is the key component to treatment. Our dermatologists who treat children can help you manage your child’s eczema, as well as help you investigate possible triggers for the condition, from soaps to foods or other factors.
Lesions
The active infection lasts about a week to 10 days. After this amount of time and when all the lesions are crusted over, you are probably no longer “active” and infectious. There is a second set of symptoms that SOME patients experience after the active infection. This is called post-herpetic neuralgia and is experienced as skin sensitivity and sometimes pain in the skin or area that the shingles affected. In PHN the active infection is over but the symptoms remain as a result of the nerve inflammation and while this is usually short-lived (days to weeks) in some cases it can last much longer.
Chemical Peels
If you have dark skin, acne, and hyperpigmentation, then we will start with aggressive therapy immediately. This might mean a acne scar cream and a pill, along with chemical peels. If results don’t soon follow, then we will quickly move on to even stronger treatments. And if nothing else works, or if the acne is severe or leaves scars, we always have Accutane (which works every time!).

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is essentially a superficial skin peel. A machine uses little crystals to sandblast and buff the skin. Skin looks great after a microdermabrasion treatment. It is brighter and feels smoother. Microdermabrasion is an excellent skin treatment for patients with certain types of acne or pigmentation, but it is too superficial to make a real difference in your acne scars.
